Super Cycle Sunday

Join the City of Adelaide for a free family event that invites you to immerse yourself in the world of cycling. Celebrating World Car-Free Day, bring the whole family for a day of exploration and fun in beautiful Whitmore Square / Iparrityi.

Suitable for all ages, discover the latest bike models and gear up for interactive riding activities.

Arrive early to join in the Kidical Mass ride, a group cycling event for children starting and finishing at Whitmore Square /Iparrityi. It's an ideal chance for kids to enjoy cycling in a supportive and safe setting.

Enjoy live music performances on stage throughout the day and treat yourself to delicious offerings from their favourite food trucks. The licensed area will feature refreshing drinks from Mismatch Brewing, with coffee and sweet treats provided by local Café Troppo. Kids can get creative with "Bling Your Bike" enjoy roving performances, and have their faces painted for an extra splash of fun.

Local bike businesses will showcase their latest products with interactive stalls, making it the perfect opportunity to explore the cycling community. Whether you're a seasoned rider or just starting out, Super Cycle Sunday has something for everyone.

Getting to Super Cycle Sunday

If you’re thinking about riding your bike to Super Cycle Sunday, that’s great! We want to make it as easy as possible for you to navigate your way to and from Whitmore Square / Iparrityi on the day. A temporary bike lane will be created along Sturt Street (southern carriageway), between West Terrace and Whitmore Square / Iparrityi to provide access to and from the event on the day. Sturt Street (Southern Carriageway) will be closed to traffic between 9:30am and 3:00pm on Sunday 22 September.

Accessibility

Whitmore Square/Iparrityi is a large open flat park with hard surface paths throughout the event site. Traffic has been slowed around the area on the day to make it safer for pedestrians. 

Parking: Should you need to park nearby there is ample free parking within close proximity, due to it being a Sunday.

Toilet: There is an accessible toilet available which is located along a hard surface pathway within the site.

Quiet zones: While the live music stage area will be quite loud there is a lot of space within the square to step away and have a quiet space when needed.
