Kids of all ages stop for a photo with Truffles, Horatio, Oliver and Augusta, the four life-size pigs in the art installation ‘A Day Out’ by Marguerite Derricourt, while the ‘Mall’s Balls’ (officially known as ‘The Spheres' by Bert Flugelman) has been a favourite meeting place of locals for generations

Rundle Street is the home to fine fashion and equally funky places to eat and drink.

Just across the river, only minutes away from the city centre is the lush precinct of North Adelaide.

The beautiful tree-lined streets of O'Connell Street and Melbourne Street are filled with a range of unique boutiques, cafes and restaurants. 

Ladies, you're sure to find something different in the fashion outlets, and there's a range of boutique beauty services to complete your look. 

At the heart of it all is the North Adelaide Village, where you can grab your groceries and gourmet delights, or work off last night's cake at the gym. 

The city's South West is one of the most diverse and colourful areas.

It's most famous shopping landmark is the iconic Adelaide Central Market, where Adelaideians have been getting their fresh produce fix for over 150 years. 

The surrounding arcades contain a variety of offerings, from health stores to bakeries and butchers, spice shops and an array of Asian grocery stores.

*check with individual traders as some may close at 5:30 pm. Supermarkets generally close at 9pm.
Shops are usually closed on Good Friday, Christmas Day and until 12 noon on 25 April (Anzac Day).
