Markets & Makers

Adelaide is home to a wonderful array of markets and makers - from fresh produce and food, to hand crafted works of art.

Markets

Adelaide Central Market

No visit to Adelaide is complete without a visit to the world-famous Adelaide Central Market.

The largest undercover market in the southern hemisphere, the markets having been drawing locals and visitors for over 150 years.

The colours, aromas and atmosphere of the market are bewitching and you'll soon fall under the spell of the friendly traders as you browse the stalls of the freshest produce and gourmet goodies.

When you're ready to eat, try the legendary Lucia's, or one of the outlets in the food halls. Their dishes may be low in price, but they're packed with flavour!

Plant 4 at Bowden

Just a short tram ride away from the city centre you'll find Plant 4 at Bowden

A modern market with a twist, you'll find a range of delicious food and produce stalls, as well as a kids zone. You'll even be able to kick back and enjoy live acoustic music on Wednesdays and Saturdays, while a DJ spins the tunes on Friday nights.

Gillies at the Grounds

Located just across the Park Lands in the Old Brick Dairy at the Adelaide Showgrounds, you'll find Gillies at the Grounds, the people's marketplace.

Home to an eclectic mix of emerging and established designers, artisan artists and purveyors of pre-loved goods, the markets are held monthly on Sundays.

Once you've found your treasures, settle back with a bite to eat from the food stalls and enjoy the tunes from the DJ.
