The Adelaide Park Lands are home to many unique playgrounds where kids and families can be active and let their imaginations run wild. There are opportunities for all ages and abilities to have fun and be challenged. Take a look at what makes each playground unique and you’ll never again be stuck for ways to entertain the kids on the weekend!

Bonython playground

The playground within the Bonython Activity Hub is larger than life and as popular with parents as it is with kids! The playground has been specially designed to be accessible to children with hearing, vision and mobility impairments. The nearby Road Safety Centre is a fun opportunity for young cyclists to learn road and traffic safety.

Unique play: Twin 25m flying fox, water play equipment, huge mouse wheel, accessible merry-go-round, domed climbing frame

Traditional play: Big swing, slide, hammock

Facilities: Not fenced. Picnic tables. BBQ and toilets

Marshallow playspace and Oxbow playground

When it comes to play experiences, you’ll be spoilt for choice at the Pityarilla Activity Hub. Adventurous kids can roam wild in the nature play of the Oxbow Playground, hop cross the rocks of the renewed creek bed, and then skip into Marshmallow Playspace for water play and a slide.

Unique play: Marshmallow – water play, wooden climbing frame.
Oxbow – Large wooden climbing frame, boulder island and stepping stones

Traditional play: Marshmallow - long and small swings, big slide, sandpit

Facilities: Marshmallow only fenced. Shelter and picnic tables. Accessible BBQs and toilets. Half basketball court and tennis court

Glover (East) playground

The kooky angles and curves of this playground may make you feel like you’re in a Seuss book. There are plenty of structures and spaces that give little ones an opportunity to use their big imagination.

Unique play: In-ground trampolines, wooden play structure

Traditional play: Small and big swings, slide, climbing nets, curved monkey bars

Facilities: Fully fenced. Picnic tables. BBQ facilities. Half basketball court

Bundey’s Paddock playground

Nature reigns supreme in this pocket of North Adelaide. The equipment has been constructed almost entirely of wood - encouraging nature play by kids and perhaps evoking nostalgia in parents.

Unique play: Wooden play structures and equipment, climbing rocks, pocket orchard

Traditional play: Slides, big swing, sandpit

Facilities: Not fenced. Shelter and picnic tables. BBQ facilities

Glover (North) playground

When travelling through North Adelaide it’s almost impossible to resist a visit to this playground's colourful helicopter and enormous tree carved with Australian animals.

Unique play: Play helicopter, play car, sandpit with interactive equipment,

Traditional play: Slides, swings, see-saw, climbing nets + more

Facilities: Fully Fenced. Picnic benches. BBQ facilities

Bush Magic playground

This classic playground has plenty to keep everyone entertained and amazed. Kids can put their problem-solving skills to the test by navigating their way through the colourful mini maze with interactive elements.

Unique play: Maze, accessible swing, and sandpit with interactive equipment

Traditional play: Slides, swings, see-saw, monkeybars

Facilities: Fully Fenced. Shelter and picnic tables. BBQ facilities close by (outside the playspace)

Princess Elizabeth playground

Whether you want to be a knight, a princess, a bird or all three at once, this playground sets the scene perfectly with a castle structure and equipment to get you airborne.

Unique play: Dual climbing towers, castle structure with loop slide, in-ground trampolines

Traditional play: Small and big swings, spring see-saw, arched monkey bars

Facilities: Only partially fenced. Picnic tables. BBQ and toilets

Glover (South) playground

Aside from its distinctive caterpillar tunnels, this playground is best known for speed! In amongst the traditional equipment, kids and parents can be found whizzing around on spinning swings and seated flying foxes.

Unique play: Large peaked climbing net, accessible swing, long seated flying fox, spinning swing

Traditional play: Tunnels, see-saw, sandpit, swings

Facilities: Fully fenced. Picnic tables

Quentin Kenihan Inclusive Playground

With leafy surrounds and a nearby lake, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more picturesque setting for a playground. This playspace honouring Quentin Kenihan’s legacy is open for all ages and abilities, with something for everyone to play in the heart of Rymill Park / Murlawirrapurka.

Unique play: Wheelchair trampoline, sound and sensory garden, water play

Traditional play: Swings, spinning carousel, rope climbing

Facilities: Fenced (accessible gate). Benches. Picnic tables. BBQ. Toilets

West Terrace Playground
