Whether you’re seeking adrenalin or serenity, there is an option for you in the South Park Lands. Explore the playspaces, ride the BMX track suitable for all abilities or try the tree climb. Slow down and find your Zen at the stunning garden oases, Adelaide Himeji Garden and Qingdao Rose Garden, or meander along the historic elm tree carriageway.
Be transported back in time when you take a turn through the carriageway of historic elm trees that travese the centre of the park. If you've got a new puppy this is where you'll find lots of other puppy parents who are attending lessons at the South Australian Obedience Dog Club.

Sometimes the smallest parks can have the most impact on your state of mind. The Adelaide Himeji Garden, also known as the Garden of Tranquillity is a peaceful Japanese oasis and celebrates Adelaide's sister city relationship with Himeji. If you don't find your zen here, head east to Osmond Gardens where you can sit and reflect under the 1911 pergola.

Play and learn in the recently updated Marshmallow Park and Oxbow Playspaces. It's fully fenced for peace of mind and features an interactive water play area, wood climbing frame and play equipment including slides and sandpits. Settle in and find a BBQ or picnic spot under the large shady trees.

Sure, you can take a stroll here but this is also a great place for adrenalin seekers of all ages. The BMX track is a highlight for those who prefer to be on two wheels. Riders come with all sorts of bikes, but please do bring your safety gear. A range of tracks provide options for everyone from gentle beginner slopes to a more extreme challenge for experienced riders. If you like a higher altitude, you might head west for the tree climb experience. There is a participation fee to climb the course but everyone is welcome to watch.

Veale Gardens is a gorgeous picnic areas and a popular spot for weddings. Be sure to look out for the statue in the Adelaide-Qingdao Rose Garden which celebrates the relationship with sister city Qingdao in China. If visit Qindao you can see the "sister" statue in their City Park.

Wander through the Wattle grove, planted to commemorate the landing of Australian troops in Gallipoli. Experience the burst of colour when the grove blooms in spring. For children, the Princess Elizabeth Playground is a must try experience. There's lots of options for climbing, sliding, swinging and even trampoline bouncing to use up some energy.

If you or your child loves netball, there's a strong chance you know about this park. There are 20 netball courts used by over 200 teams throughout the year. Thankfully players don't have the same challenges as 1938 when girls complained about the horses "galloping over the courts while play was in progress".
