WOMADelaide

March long weekend

WOMADelaide is one of the biggest cultural festivals celebrating the world of music, arts and dance.

Every year, around 500 artists from 30+ countries perform on eight stages spread across a 34-hectare venue space in Adelaide’s magnificent Botanic Park.

The festival also programs large-scale installation works, lively discussion panels, workshops and many other unexpected performance areas, offering a kaleidoscope of experiences and avenues of cultural discovery. During WOMADelaide, Adelaide transforms into a truly global city unmatched anywhere else in Australia.

WOMADelaide offers a rich variety of programming initiatives, including:

  • The Planet Talks discussion forum
  • Taste the World food and cooking demonstrations
  • The KidZone is a dedicated nature-play space for children
  • The Global Village with over 100 international food, retail and community stalls
  • Healing Village with a range of relaxation, remedial, and alternative therapies for weary festival bodies.

WOMADelaide is also a leader in running sustainable events, with many initiatives put in place to ensure the festival has little to no negative impact on the environment. Offering reusable drinking cups, compostable or recyclable packaging from all vendors, sustainable waste management and a commitment to Greening Australia, to offset the ecological footprint of the festival.

The City of Adelaide is a proud supporter of WOMADelaide.
