Feast Queer Arts & Cultural Festival

November

The most colourful and diverse fixture of Adelaide’s festival calendar is undoubtedly Feast Festival, a showcase of queer arts and culture. Over two weeks in November the LGBTIQ+ community is celebrated throughout Adelaide with a myriad of events.

Registrations are open to all, making this truly one of the year’s most diverse rosters of entertainment. Cabaret, drag, theatre, parties, films, balls, exhibitions and sporting events are just a start. The always anticipated opening night party has brought international names to perform like Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst, and homegrown icons like Dannii Minogue.

The annual Pride March kicks off the festival in spectacular fashion with LGBTIQ+ communities and their allies celebrating in a colourful and passionate procession throughout city. This event is started in 1973 and the fact that it continues today is a true testament to the perseverance and resilience of the LGBTIQ+ community.

The supremely talented line-ups also take time to share their knowledge and skills through masterclasses and workshops. Many events are free and all ages.

The festival began in 1997 as an inclusive and safe space for the community to express themselves in a very different landscape than today.

The City of Adelaide is a proud supporter of Feast Festival and is committed to making the city a welcoming and inclusive place for all people to enjoy.
